Bullitt County Theatre Company to Perform World Premiere of Frankenstein!

SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY - The Bullitt County Community Theatre, under the auspices of the Bullitt County Arts Council, announces the premiere performance of an adaptation of Shelley’s “Frankenstein”.

This version of “Frankenstein!” is described as a retelling of Mary Shelley’s original work, with numerous important scientific and philosophical themes having relevance today.

The script is the collaborative effort of three writers and many years of work: Timothy Brown, John Hetzel and Bill Breuer (the Company’s Producing Artistic Director and Playwright in Residence). The show preserves many aspects of Mary Shelly’s original work that is often overlooked. John Hetzel is the guest director and Timothy Brown (the Company Manager) is the Assistant Director. Much local talent is featured in the production along with a number of actors from outside the area.

The Theatre Company as part of the Bullitt County Arts Council, a non-profit organization, is committed to providing quality entertainment and a superior theatre experience. It endeavors to develop original theatre where possible and provide audiences a broad range of theatrical presentations and enrichment. The company has two more world premieres planned for its 2009 season, The Gala Dinner Murder mystery: “Who Did the Don In?” for November and an new adaptation (with music) of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” in December.
